This financial reporting course offers a broad introduction to the field of International Financial Reporting and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). It traces the history of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) from its early roots through to recent changes and updates and future developments by discussing Convergence project with FASB.

About IFRS

International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) were formulated as a result of a growing need for accountants to use a common international reporting standards in the preparation of company financial statements. These standards are progressively replacing the many different national accounting standards.
They were first proposed in 1996 and have been continuously updated
