About ACCA

The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) offers an international qualification based on global financial reporting standards. It is designed to provide the knowledge, expertise and professional values to require to become a finance professional and build a successful career in all industrial and commercial sectors such as banking, manufacturing and logistics.

In ACCA there is a very strong focus on professional values, ethical behavior and good governance. This is essential as the finance and accounting professions are moving towards strengthened codes of conduct, regulation and legislation. It is also a main part of the practical experience that you must complete to qualify as a full member.

How to Become ACCA

To qualify as an ACCA member, candidates need to complete the following:

1 Examinations Pass 14 Papers examination.
(Nine of these are eligible for exemption if the candidate has other relevant qualifications)
2 Experience 36 months experience in a relevant accounting or financial role.
3 Ethics Candidates must successfully complete the Professional Ethics module.

 

Value Addition with ACCA 

While candidates are progressing to full ACCA membership there are other qualifications that can be gained. This is a good way to demonstrate additional knowledge and expertise to potential and current employers.

Additional qualifications that can be achieved are:

  1. BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting awarded by Oxford Brookes University, UK.
  2. MBA awarded by Oxford Brookes University, UK

 

Examination Details

The ACCA examinations are divided into two levels:

  • Fundamentals and Professional.
  • The Fundamentals level is further divided into the Knowledge module and Skills module.
  • The Professional level is divided into Essentials and Options.
